Attendance

Students are expected to be in school every day. Regular attendance is vital to academic success at Brookland. Our goal is 100 percent attendance at each grade level. The only way we will be able to meet this goal is with your assistance.

When returning from an absence, a student must have a note from a parent/legal guardian with the following information:

  • Full name of student
  • Parent/Guardian's signature and telephone number(s)
  • Date(s) of absence
  • Reason for absence

Late Arrival

Students are expected to arrive on time every day. Students who arrive late not only reduce their own opportunities for learning, but they also disrupt the learning process for students already in class. Here is some helpful information about late arrival:

  • Students should plan on arriving at school no later than 8:30 in order to be on time for first period, which begins at 8:45.
  • Students arriving after 9:00am will report to the main office and then be released to class. Students arriving after 9:30 will be held in In-School Suspension (ISS) until 10:00.
  • Three (3) late arrivals equal one (1) unexcused absence.
  • Excessive lateness will result in further administrative action.
